In the criminal justice stytem, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police, who investigate crime; and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders. Unfortunately, none of them could be here tonight. Instead, we will have to make do with a group of detectives and attorneys whose only training for police work has been television and who have never actually solved a crime. A string of murders has occurred, and they have yet to get any leads. We can only hope they solve this crime before the whole town winds up six feet under.
