Blueberry MonthJul 10, 2017
Did you know that July is national blueberry month? To celebrate, Peddler’s Village is decked out with everything blue, specifically blueberries and bluegrass music. The big Bluegrass and Blueberries Festival takes place July 15 and 16 this year, and it is expected to be the best one yet. Let’s talk music; there will be love performances all weekend long. The acts range from traditional bluegrass bands like Borderline, Raven Hill, and Mike Brill to pop and rock influenced bluegrass bands like The Hillbillies of Cohesion, Tino and Ashley, and Ray Owen. The other half of the festival’s namesake, the blueberries, are well represented all weekend long. Bring your appetite and be sure to try blueberry inspired treats like blueberry pies, butter, jellies, soda, cupcakes, and even fudge. To fill out the weekend, The Family Fun Field and Artisan Market will feature bounce houses and crafts made by local artisans. The Bluegrass and Blueberries Festival is always a highlight of the year here at Peddler’s Village.
